IFEA at Work – Work at IFEA and Beyond: Looking Back at the Past, Reflecting on the Future
Seminar
17 April 2026, 15:30-18:30
Orient-Institut Istanbul
Language: French
This interdisciplinary seminar, open to researchers from all backgrounds as well as to the wider public, aims to highlight the richness of the trajectories and research carried out at IFEA and beyond in the field of Turkish studies.
Each session will offer an opportunity to explore the history of IFEA through the presentation of the academic and cultural trajectories of our speakers – scholars and researchers, translators, writers, and diplomats – while also opening a shared reflection on the future of these professions in relation to Turkish studies in the era of digital humanities and artificial intelligence.
The seminar will open with a presentation by Alexandre Baralis (EFA) entitled “From the Shores of Thrace to the Black Sea: The Ionian Colonial Adventure”, followed by a discussion with Anaïs Lamesa (University of Edinburgh / IFEA).
The language of the event is French. Participation is free of charge.
