At the Orient-Institut Istanbul, Tomasz Prasqual opens up soundscapes that connect across time, space, and body. Baroque reflections of Couperin (L’Art de toucher le Clavecin) and Rameau (First Suite, selections) encounter the music of Chopin – dazzling and virtuosic in the Valse op. 42, yet intimate and poetic in the selected Nocturnes. Morton Feldman’s Palais de Mari unfolds in delicate resonances that continue in Prasqual’s own compositions L’una vuota and The Young Man. Each phrase, each moment is a dialogue: tones touch, intertwine, and dissolve again – like threads that are barely visible, yet deeply felt.

This is a concert of relational experience: music not only to be heard, but to be sensed – in breath, in presence, in space. Intersections of times, sounds, and bodies unfold in the tension between past and present, movement and stillness, impulse and resonance. A journey through sound, time, and touch.

Tomasz Prasqual is a composer, sound architect, pianist, and dramaturge. He studied composition, electronic composition, piano, and conducting in Poznań, Cologne, and Düsseldorf, and deepened his expertise in masterclasses with Stockhausen, Eötvös, Ferneyhough, André, and Wolff. His internationally performed works – operas, music theatre, orchestral and chamber music as well as installations – move at the intersection of music, sound art, architecture, science, theatre, philosophy, and psychology. He has received commissions from the National Opera in Warsaw, Deutschlandfunk, and the Wrocław Opera. As an artist-expert, he contributed to the European Commission’s SciArt project Resonances III Datami. For the Ruhrtriennale 2023–24 he worked as dramaturge for outreach and community. His pianistic path was significantly shaped by Prof. Klaus Oldemeyer in Cologne. Currently, he is a fellow of the Kunststiftung NRW at Atelier Galata in Istanbul.
