Lena Alpozan studied German Studies, Art History, and Turkology at Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich. Her master’s thesis, “Loss of Meaning? Language and Image in the Work of the German-Iranian Poet SAID,” focused on German-language migration literature. In her academic work, she explored themes such as language loss, the repositioning of exiles within host societies, and the deconstruction of traditional concepts in German literary studies.
Professionally, she is an experienced cultural manager with extensive expertise in program development, event management, and international cultural exchange. At the Goethe-Institut Istanbul, she directed the Tarabya Cultural Academy from 2023 to 2025; prior to that, she had been responsible for program and communications work there since 2016. Earlier positions include her role as Quality Manager at telc GmbH in Istanbul.
