Fools, Poets and Misfits: Critique and Marginalization in the early-modern Ottoman Empire
Bu monografi, Osmanlı siyasi kültürü ve toplumunun dönüşümünü Sultan I. Süleyman’ın geç saltanatından Sultan I. İbrahim’in katline uzanan dönemde incelemektedir. Çalışmanın odağını, imparatorluk çevrelerinin dışında tedavülde olan siyasi ve toplumsal eleştiriler yer almaktadır. Arşiv belgeleri ve anlatı kaynaklarına dayanan inceleme, madun ve muhalif sesleri görünür kılarak erken modern Osmanlı muhalefetinin ve genişleyen bir eleştiri kültürünün hikayesini anlatır. Böylece imparatorluktaki iktidar, meşruiyet ve muhalefet dinamiklerine dair yeni bakış açıları sunmaktadır.
