This concert serves as the academic and artistic culmination of the CMO Summer Academy by bridging historical music sources and contemporary performance practices. Bringing the Academy’s performative studies directly to the stage, the
Anadolu Makam Ensemble directed by Prof. Dr. Esra Berkman demonstrates how precise intonational frameworks, pitch representations, and editorial interventions influence the modern rendition of Ottoman makam music based on CMO editions.
